What is School Council and Home and School Association? At West Oaks, parent involvement is represented by two groups, the School Council and the Home and School Association. Parents are welcome to be involved in one or both groups.
School Council is an advisory body that works with the school principal in support of student achievement and well-being. The council may provide recommendations to the principal and the school board on issues such as school year calendars, strategies to improve school performance, codes of conduct and dress, curriculum priorities, and safe arrival programs. Our chair for 2024-2025 is Rasha Ibrahim.

Home and School Association focuses on parent engagement and fundraising activities to enhance students' learning experiences. The Home and School Association meets on the first Monday of the month from 7-8 pm at the school. Free child care is provided for school age children. New members and new ideas are always welcome. Attending one or all meetings is a great way for parents to feel connected to what is going on at the school.
